Steak Tips
Storing Beef
It is best to use roasts and steaks within three to five days of when they’re purchased. If they will not be used within this time frame or before the expiration date, the meat can be frozen for up to two weeks in its original store-bought wrapping. For longer storage, re-wrap in heavy aluminum foil or plastic freezer bags. Label each package with the cut of meat, date purchased and weight. Steaks and roasts will maintain flavor for 6 to 12 months; ground beef for 3 to 4 months.

Steak Tips
Instant Read Thermometer
To test whether a steak is done, insert an instant-read thermometer horizontally from the side, making sure to get the reading in the center of the steak.
