Barbecue Style Round Steak

Round steak is seared in oil on the stove top, placed in a baking dish, and topped with sauce prepared from chopped onion, barbecue sauce and water. Dish is baked several hours at low heat to blend flavors and tenderize the beef.

Ingredients -
2 pounds Round Steak
2 tablespoons Oil
3 tablespoons chopped Onion
1 cup Barbecue Sauce
1/2 cup Water
 
Preparation:

1. Preheat oven to 325 F.

2. Cut round steak into serving size pieces.

3. Add vegetable oil to skillet. Heat over medium heat.

4. Sauté round steaks 2 minutes per side.

5. Place steaks in 9 x 13” baking dish.

6. Add chopped onion, barbecue sauce, and water to small bowl. Stir to combine.

7. Pour over round steaks.

8. Cover baking dish with foil.

9. Bake 1-1/2 hours.
